Movement Evaluation Submission Form

If your videos and photos are hosted online, this form is a great option for fast and easy submission. Please allow 48 hours for Saxon to review and confirm the completion of your form submission.

Please double-check the guide below to ensure your videos and photo albums meet all criteria. Please do your best to keep videos between 2-3 minutes in length. The better quality the video, the more detailed information Saxon will be able to provide about your horse. Feel free to E-mail Saxon with any questions about how to take photos or videos.

Payment may be submitted through Venmo to Actuality Equine LLC (@actualityequine), or PayPal Saxon Alexandra (SaxonAlexandra@ActualityEquine.org).

Movement evaluation donations that exceed $50 are used to offset sliding scale rate programs for BIPOC, AAPI, LGBTQIA+, and disabled equestrians.

Payment for live consultations must be submitted before Saxon will be able to provide you with the report from your session.

These consultations are not a substitute for veterinary care or advice.

Lateral view

Do your best to ensure natural movement of the head and neck by allowing ample slack in the lead line. The more actively the horse is moving, the more information Saxon will be able to glean from the movement. Reluctance to move forward can be just as contextually important, so use your judgement when applying aids to encourage your horse to move.

Cranial/Caudal View

In these views, Saxon is looking for symmetry in pelvic swing, barrel swing, neck swing, and the protraction/retraction patterns of the limbs. The more square-on the video view, and the straighter the horse, the easier time Saxon will have picking out details.

Asymmetry in movement, or difficulty walking in a straight line can be contextually important so use your judgement when correcting your horse’s path of travel.

In the first clip, the bay gelding is quite wibbly-wobbly. Saxon allows him to do his best to maintain his path of travel without stepping in front of the camera, and without micro-managing his body position.
